Day Three

No video today, sorry everyone. Today was an overly long, very busy day. I spent the first half of the day herding 12 5th graders, and the second half of the day at a mass steel band concert.

Luckily Thom packed me a lunch today, i love that boy, otherwise I'd have gone all day without any food. Lunch was fried poulenta and spaghetti with beef and red bell peppers. mmm...perfect food to eat cold. Dinner is more leftover corn soup and bread because it is late and I am too tired to figure something else out...

More tomorrow...I will be home earlier than usual for a Wednesday night so maybe something a little more interesting...

Day Two

Challenge, Day Two from buildababe on Vimeo.

Okay, Day two!

Today for lunch I had leftover corn soup and diet coke that I brought from home.

Tomorrow I will be out pretty much all day, in the morning with the kids, and in the evening at a mass steel band concert. This poses a bit of a dilemma for me as I will be rather tempted to grab something while out. My plan for this evening was to make something that would be easy to pack and take as leftovers that don't require reheating (which corn soup does require...) Sadly I managed to burn a good portion of my dinner creation as i was distracted by the shiny internet...

There was enough that did not get burnt that i could have for dinner, but tomorrow...not so much. Lucky for me Thom offered to share his creation for the evening and packed a lunch for both of us for tomorrow. :)

So far so good...

The Challenge, Day One!

Transiit's Challenge, Day One from buildababe on Vimeo.

The challenge has officially begun!

I did have one little shopping trip just to get potatoes for dinner today and more diet coke, however everything else has come completely from what I have on hand. It looks like this should be a pretty fun project for the week. There is a lot of little stuff in the kitchen that needs to be eaten, things that I know i have but I just don't get around to using. Hopefully I'll come up with some interesting things to eat with what i have around the house. The real trick will be avoiding trips to town for lunch at work and the vending machines...

I think I stocked up enough on Diet Coke today to last me through the week, however that is the one thing that may be a true challenge for me...I live off of the stuff...

I am wondering if Thom will be willing to share some of his next eat-for-a-week creation for some corn soup...hmm....

Check back tomorrow for more!!

a challenge

So transiit from mmmm......donut has thrown down a challenge. Eating for an entire week only on the foods on hand. This blog in fact was created because of said challenge to use as a place to report on my own progress. I imagine this space will have much more use than just this project, but it is a good place to start. Stay tuned for a start date and a report on my progress!

Thom from Eat For A Week is also on board!
